============ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2003! ============ January kicks off the New Year with new beginnings, ideas and change. A perfect time to make a fresh start! What will 2003 bring for you? How will you change? Where will you be? What would you like to learn? Where would you like to travel? Which tearoom would you like to visit this spring, summer or fall? Whatever it is that you may decide to do, I hope that the year ahead brings you what you most wish for!
Now that the holidays are over, and since January also coincides with national Hot Tea Month, take time to enjoy and relax with a hot cuppa tea. When it's cold and blustery out there, curl up with a good book and enjoy the benefits of tea and it's comfort! February is fast approaching and soon Valentine's Day will arrive. Stores are already preparing their wares for Valentine, and I'm sure tearooms are also getting geared up for this favorite time of the year as well. I hope to bring you more updates soon. Unfortunately, this month I haven't been able to visit any new tearooms yet (ideas are welcome), so instead we will feature some information on the benefits of tea.
Warm wishes, Annette TeaRoomsOnLine.com

============ WHY DRINK TEA? ============
There are a lot of reasons why we should drink tea. To list a few, not only does drinking tea lower the risk of cancer and heart diseases, but it also increases bone density especially for tea drinking women as well as refreshing and relaxing. As I mentioned above, January is national Hot Tea Month, as declared by the Tea Association of the USA. It began in the early 1990s as a means to encourage more tea drinking especially at the beginning of the year. The Tea Council, formed in 1950 and functions as the public relations and education arm of the tea industry, focusing on tea science and establishing tea as a healthy beverage. Here's a link to the article written about tea consumption and its health benefits, which I thought was interesting http://www.teausa.com/general/hottea2.cfm
